Maurice Romeo Larochelle was born ‘next door’ to Ste. Marie parish, at “Notre Dame Hospital” (Now CMC), the second of five children, to Annette Daneault and Romeo Larochelle.
After working as a mover, construction laborer, sheet-rocker, roofer, truck driver, and for the Manchester Police department, he became interested in the priesthood and began studies for his BA at St. Anselm College.
Fr. Moe was accepted as a candidate for the priesthood and sent to Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. He was ordained June 6th, 1987 by Bishop Odore Gendron.
Fr. Moe’s first assignment was as associate pastor at Ste. Marie under Fr. Len Foisy and later Fr. Marc Montminy. He served at Ste. Marie parish for six years.
He then served at All Saints parish in Lancaster for seven years, St Mark’s in Londonderry for two and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Hampton for another seven years before he was called back to Ste. Marie Parish.
